Perplexing Prepositions

by Henry King

I have a persuasive perspicuous preposition as
it is known you have a profound programmatic propensity toward
items pernicious per se which
involve perplexing prepositions neither
insidious persnickety profligate pronouns
inane peradventures of painful paralytic punctuation
indiscriminate penurious parsimonious parsing
ineffective phallocentric professorial phrases
inadequate phalanxes of predicates nor
indecent persistent preposterous persiflage is
included for it is pertinent and a perquisite for you to
invest personally and profusely in perpetuity for
intense and precise pre-positioning of perplexing prepositions

Tongue Twisters contest entry

My Creative Writing instructor, in a hurry to present three hours of classwork in one hour, was interrupted several times by perplexed students. One of the subjects was about beginning a poem with a preposition. Therefore my tongue twister. The poem was selected to be published in the 2018 Edition of Chrysalis, Literary and Arts Journal; El Paso Community College, El Paso, Texas, April 2018. ISSN: 2153-8220
