Diving Into Alligators

by Artasylum

When I was ten and mermaid bound
I'd swim in a lake with gators ‘round

In love with creating splatter
No stupid creature ever did matter

Tempting fate, kicking my feet
Hoping they don't catch his teeth

Dinky Dock was my favorite place
Evil lurked invading my space

I taunted and teased and definitely knew
The kind of mischief I always drew

Naive and full of life
My blank brain attracted strife

Trouble never was imagined by me
And trouble never did I see

When last I dove off that glorious dock
Was when my fear clock first tocked
