Two men share a flask of wine

Sharing Wine

by Pamusart

Two men in the heat with sun on each face
Not one of them feels denied of his space
A flask of cheap wine they willingly share;
a wisdom of peace and kinship so rare
It's such a hot day with sun overhead
and gnats and small insects buzz 'round their heads
The wine is not good but tastes of delight
their friendship is made before there is night

There's more to discover due to the men
with different backgrounds forging their ken
The one's hair is afro; other's is straight
Each one is unique; refraining from hate
Returning to work they celebrate life
with knowledge that they'll eliminate strife
They meet after work at each other's home
'cause friendship's preferred to being alone

Their families know that hatred is wrong
Togetherness mends and makes them all strong
They're buddies for life and meet other friends
Their lives are enriched and biases end
