Revelations in life...

Spirit Soars...

by Artasylum

Always an observer
I watch the tender scene.

The blessed mother covers her child,
sparing him life's harm.

Studying the loving parent,
Instinctively knowing she is me;
I forgive myself indiscretions
spun in the name of protection.

Last night just beyond my dreams,
senses soared above the clouds;
the ones that tether me to the ground--
the ones that keep me earthbound.

Pondering pure moments in my life,
resting wide-eyed upon a feather bed;
I pull innocence ever closer to me--
then tip toe to the brink.

It is mine for the taking,
a gift given at birth.

I surrender to God's full worth.

Life twists and turns and mostly it just slaps me around by it's demands... Every once in a while I'm blessed to be still, be quiet and simply, between breathing in and breathing out, I am able to transcribe moments that usually elude me in my every day, unreflective life.
