Flummoxed by Faith

Most of the major religions of the world require a modicum of Faith, i.e belief in a Supreme Deity.
Such belief today seems to invite ridicule or trolling in equal measure.
Yet humans live by faith, maybe not the deity type faith, but faith nevertheless.
Consider just a few zones where we live by faith today:
*faith in our phone:
-our lifeline to the world for work, study, fun, love.
*faith in our money:
- it absorbs most of our waking hours earning it and tortures us with sleepless nights fretting about it.
*faith in our family & friends:
-So vital to our wellbeing, we are careful to cultivate them , socialise with them.
* faith in our car /bike
- often quite a big dollop of faith needed in keeping this mechanised god purring.
* faith in our good looks to find a mate
- vital to ensure continuity of the species !
These are but a few areas of life where we invest our faith quotient.

If we lose faith in any or all of the above we're flummoxed.
God could be said to sit atop all of these.

NO, say the non-believers & agnostics. It's all down to our own blood,sweat & tears.
YES, say the believers. Without God we would have nothing.

is Faith some sort of gift like a musical talent or sex appeal?
That's why I'm still flummoxed by Faith.
