A Summer evening Roundtable for Poets

Poets Lair

by Sugarray77

Come, sit with me on a summer's eve
with plate and glass to share.
We will talk of poets and compare
the verses of which they conceive.

Long into the night our voices leave
debate and opinions in the air.
Come, sit with me on a summer's eve
with plate and glass to share.

Of merit and meter, we believe
ascribing to each their due, what is fair.
Al fresco dining in a poet's lair.
Good food, good friends, a poet's reprieve.
Come, sit with me on a summer's eve.
