The lily pond waits for insects to land.
The surface is skimmed by dragonfly fans.
The frogs collect bugs who never suspect;
At least not in time; for course to correct.

A frog with red eyes needs food for her young
Big insects will fall to long sticky tongue.
The pads have their frogs; the pond has its ducks.
The currents are mild and always in flux.

The beauty of nature's heart's on display.
What happens in ponds will always amaze.
Some colorful fish will swim in small schools.
But, ducks know first hand that fish are no fools.

It's all I can do to watch and react.
With all of this beauty; no need to act
