Short Poem - Nine Lines

Modern Ways

by LateBloomer

Life is busy.
No time to call.
I'll send a text.

Loved ones aging.
Time is quick.
My life quicker.

Death comes mutely.
Angel appears.
Wish I had called.

Recognized

Not biographical. Just an observation of life. Recently, I've been to quite a few wakes of people who are in the late 80's. From personal conversations with the deceased, I know how disappointed and lonely they were when it came to their grown children. If there wasn't for the quick text message or Face Book, they would never hear from their children or know what was going on in their lives. As I sat at the various wakes, I couldn't help but to wonder if the children wished they had called more often or even realized the loneliness of their parent.
