A melange of psychotic utterances

Veracious Nuances in Time

by Swampfox1

On a cool summer morning came, a regretted episode
I lay in bed, lost, in a deep, slumberous state
So vulnerable, so fragile, laying, sleeping, totally comatose
A mélange of psychotic utterances seemingly sealed my fate
On and on, a voice, incomprehensible, so vastly insensible
Kept persecuting my inner-being, pestering me awake,
drowning in sleep, fighting, to not hear a peep
I managed a few words, “Let Me Sleep”
Still on pillow, my head struggled to find my dream
Searching for the Cajun scene and monster machine
Wanting to go back to the slumber, the peace, the serenity
Tired body and soul strived to rejoin slumberous scene
Oh woe be unto me, I sighed in ancient melodic tone
I am so tired, so worn of body, let me sleep
My soul cries for rest, I am dead to the bone
Let me sleep, let me rest in shriveled heap

Remember that poetry is made for the voice. It is meant to be read out loud.
Also, please note that commas indicate a pause when reading poetry. The presence of a comma means you physically pause and stop reading for a second or 2.
Thereby keep that in mind so as to retain the most from this reading.
The poem is a true story and this happened to me long ago
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
