a shepherd to admire
Odin and the Goats

The minister at my church gave a sermon today about the difference between being a shepherd and a hired hand. The shepherd gives his life for his sheep, the hired hand is there to do a job and collect his pay. She finished her sermon with the story of Odin. Odin is a Great Pyrenees who was in charge of some goats. When his family left their home because of wild fires(this is in California), Odin refused to leave the goats. When the family returned, Odin, the goats and some deer were all safe. I thought I would post Odin's story again with the fires raging again in California.
