Prayers for Syria

Prayers for Syria

When glass houses, are the homes of great men,
and stones are the tools of their foolish trade.
When big cities burn, bombed time and again,
leave piles of rubble and children afraid.

When nothing can quell desire for war,
guns have the power to take away breath.
Religion and hate are deep at the core,
and innocent people are put to death.

Is there hope for peace for man not to die,
to care for thy neighbour, thy bosom friend?
To know we can't let every man cry,
this terrible war, must come to an end.

If death is thy wish, then do it alone.
Leave others to live and make it their home.
