little girls dressed in Easter best
looking dainty in pastels,
lady-like hats and little white gloves
dressed by their mothers with love;

boys in white shirts with neckties and collars
too tight and scratchy you hear them holler,
sitting in a pew, neckties already askew
and scuff marks on both polished shoes;

Easter apparel has changed over years
but the message we always hear brings cheers;

it is a glorious day
Christ has risen!!
