My new husband is the ultimate good samaritan.

My Kidney Donor Husband

by A. Willow Bends

Have you considered giving a part of yourself away
to someone else
to save a life
to make one's day?
My spouse (new husband) one kidney is less
My oldest son was in kidney distress
needed one
My husband donated
A Christmas blessing, miracle fated to happen
My son now has a second run
at being a husband and daddy - so fun
Energy levels are soaring and SO-
if there is someone out there YOU know
who needs this type of gift of self
it costs nothing to put yourself on the shelf
YOU can be a hero-a star
to a friend or even a stranger afar
YOU can be that person who pave someone's way
to a healthier, happier, lovelier day.
The testing near painless
You're treated like kings
Your soul will find peace
from the the joy that this brings
It often costs nothing
You'll gain a new friend
and the happiness earned
will somehow NOT end
IF you are the match, you'll get time off to relax
and little gifties "post-op"
kindness to the max
treated like royalty, so says my man
and he gave LIFE to my son,
so that' s well worth a hand (AND my heart forever!)
We're forever indebted, but he wants not praise
He wants my son to live well
so he can just raise
his children the way all daddies do
Donors are AWESOME
and it could BE YOU!

A Good Samaritan contest entry

I know. I know. I could go on and on about this miracle. And I will!
