A rhymed poem about childhood

A Garden Stroll

I remember ...

I roamed on whims all through the land;
the wind and I were hand in hand.
I laughed at birds, "You fly too slow;
all follow me, now, Tally Ho!"

Atop the trees collecting stars,
then, leaping up to land on Mars.
My deeds, by all, were set to verse,

the master of the universe.

Grand oceans crossed with seven strokes,
and endless tales and crazy blokes--

and vows of friendship signed in blood,
and laughter flowing like a flood.

And now ...

My childhood mem'ries thrill me yet,
though now I'm old, there's no regret.
I'll spend my days until they end,
in garden walks with dear old friends.
