Picking the winner in the NCAA basketball tournament

March Madness

by zekeziemann

Its March Madness once again.
Sixty-four teams and only one trophy.
Brackets filled by fans with pencil, then pen.
College basketball fans glued to TV.

Sixty-four, then thirty-two, then Sweet Sixteen teams,
Then Elite Eight, then the Final Four.
It's win or go home, high hopes or broken dreams.
The Semi's and finally a Champ wins the war.

Who will win the 2018 coveted prize?
The Wolfpack? The Tigers? The Volunteers?
The Blue Devils? The Spartans? The Buckeyes?
The Wildcats? The Bearcats? The Cavaliers?

The Seminoles? The Sooners? The Tar Heels again?
The Boilermakers? The Jayhawks? The Hurricanes?
The Bull dogs? The Friars? Gonzaga or maybe Penn?
Prognosticating is more luck than use of our brains.

The teams got there by skill and not by chance.
If you pick the winner: Way to go! Have a beer!.
Congrats to all teams who played in the Big Dance.
To the losers: It's over, but wait 'til next year.
