The Dare
by frogbook
The stones seemed to go on for miles, silent sentinels, oblivious to the cutting wind and pelting rain. If I was going to do it, the time was now or never.
The taunting voice of Kera Sternwell mocked me from behind. I took a deep breath and sprinted through the graveyard.
A breathless scream was forced from my throat as a branch scraped my arm.
I reached the other side of the cemetery unharmed and laughed a little about my own foolish fear.
Imagine my surprise the next morning when I found out Kera was the one missing.
