A Haibun

Dolphin Kiss

by June Sargent

The lagoon is so beautiful, almost surreal.
Floating in the warm aqua waters of the
Yucatan, surrounded by fragrant exotic flowers,
I feel a nudge on my shoulders. It's my new
friend Charlie. After splashing me with a salty
spray he plants a kiss right on my lips! His skin
feels like rubber and his nose, a hard plastic
spoon.  It was amazing! As the sky turns
orange and the sun begins to set, I reluctantly
step out of the water. My time with the dolphins
is over. I can erase it off my "bucket list" -- but
don't erase me yet.

Raindrops are falling -
dripping off tropical ferns
Bucket overflows

Create a Haibun contest entry

Reflections of a trip to Mexico a few years ago. Next stop was the Mayan ruins at Chichenitza. I have a very long list...and it's not getting any shorter.
