Heaven's Just A Fix Away

by Delahay

Got a cat's eye marble for glass eye bling
The truth is all a financial thing
All I got from the Army is an old pair of boots
And an undesirable discharge, it ain't no use

Got a taste for codeine if I find a kind or hungry Doc
Yeah, I'd rather have the hard stuff, need something I can hock
Can't afford that kind of monkey, it's a pricey fix
Gonna have to get something, I'm not into being sick

Everything I've ever had, I let it slip away
It's a twelve-step program once you start to pray
If I had a watch, maybe time would slip on by
But on days like this, I don't know why I even try

Spoon turned dark from the burning match
The poison is mixed, almost syrupy black
The belt on my arm has it swollen in delight
I drive the spike into my vein, then I join the night
