The Killings of Black People

by Harry Smith

The police are killing black people,
which is something we can see. We
are wondering what it will take, for
all of us to be free.
Our people are killed in their cars,
or while walking on the streets.
Why do this keep happening, and
is it something we can defeat.
Our people are killing one another,
and there is nothing we can do. We
pray, and wish to God, that this will
stop, and that our wishes will come true.
With the police killing us, and us
killing each other. Lord help us to
stop this killing, and love one
