A mom's advice these wintry days

Bundle Up!

"Bundle up!" my mommy says,
"When ever you go out!"
"But all these clothes will smother me,"
I scream and stomp about.

My snowsuit's zipped up to my lips.
My boots are much too snug.
A scarf is coiled around my face
so tight I dare not shrug.

My stocking hat is pulled so low
you only see my eyes.
And gloves enclose my little hands
so tight each finger cries.

I waddle when I walk because
of all I'm swaddled in.
And when I flap my arms around,
I am a penguin's twin,

But outside on this freezing day,
each breath's a hic-e+up.
Again my mommy was so right.
I'm glad I bundled up.
