Fairy child

by rjuselius

Bluebells chime on the meadow in a moist dew-drop morn
Buttercups open their petals towards the rising sun
A tiny frail fairy in the hollow birch gnarl is born
Sleepy bumblebees awaken stiff in dawn's early quest for hon

The grass rustles as the vernal fairies welcome the new tender feet
As celebrations of intoxicating nectar shared with every single sprite
All feasts are illuminated with a swarm of fireflies' heart beat
Music played by crickets' talented violinesque delight

Songs sung by pairs of swans swimming frivolously upstream
Their melody less melancholic rather filled with gentle glory
As the swans swear the little one a noble safe guarded dream
The silver-threaded trees invitingly offer a home in the roots of hoary

The wee one will live a life within the protective bosom of charmed woods
Beginning existence as helpless as child with blinding sand in eyes
The innocent heart will grow through the touch of angelic goods
And it will be fulfilled with love and stardust in lows and highs
