A wicked deed

by Dolly'sPoems

She held the line, but missed the sign,
the bond she did refute;
Her love was clear, but she did smear,
just now it did not suit.
So blinded by the goal, she stole,
freed a greedy seed;
She did not see the prize was me,
so wicked was the deed.

A bond that once was very fond,
did now pay the price;
Betrayal crept and was the debt,
paid with great sacrifice.
I count the cost of this great loss,
feel sadness deep inside;
As love dies, the saddened cries,
are tempered with my pride.

I know I shall go to my grave
with a strong determined will;
My head to bed, my heart is dead,
never will my dreams fulfil.
United we could never be,
dysfunctional from the start;
Too many ghosts that gloat,
on saddened broken hearts.

The rivalry and jealousy,
within a family lost;
A sad and tragic rigidity
of matriarchal fuss.
A tongue that lied, and then love died,
all loyalty was gone;
Betrayal's stone cold undertone
chilled the morning sun.

I think we have all been betrayed in our lives at sometime, this poem is about one of those times.
