Eating too much at Chrissy

The festive aftermath

by DR DIP

THE FESTIVE AFTERMATH

I'm sitting here all feeling fat, Christmas finally over
Feeling like I'd ate the cat and maybe half of rover
Always eaten way too much, feeling rather stuffed
Can hardly climb the stairs and such, getting rather puffed

Every year I always say, "not going to eat too much"
Then the food comes out my way, I have it in my clutch
Chicken, ham, pork and prawns spread across the table
All the things a nutritionist warns, to avoid if you're able

But there it is, laid out there now, served in front of me
Feeling like I've ate a cow, and maybe a horse if be
So I take another serving on the plate, a little more maybe
Not knowing my glutinous fate is something I can't see

So here I am two days on, my belly still feels bloated
Feeling guilty and forlorn, my fridge has now been moated!
So I make this resolution, as we approach another year
I say this in total absolution, as I have another beer

Next year, I'll be less naughty, my eyes not as big as my belly
Don't want my girth to measure forty! As I sit and watch the telly
Christmas time's a festive season and it's just one big excuse
To eat like pigs for no good reason, except Santa's on the loose!
