My friend who was a writer who never finished what she start

A friend Indeed

by Twin2

I came here today to pay my respect
honestly the truth is what you expect
mostly the hardest thing is a lie to detect
as I look back on things I attempt to reflect

I was always told that a lie can roll off any tongue
so let's dive right in and take the leap, the plunge
I'm standing on good footing to right a wrong
perhaps a remix of some sort to another tired song

I thought dearest friend that I knew you well
I'm writing this because it's your story to tell
you have been silenced and can't speak anymore
I feel an aching a yearning throbbing within my core

You wanted to write your story but never got the chance
so bear with me as I look and peep searching for a glance
It started way back when we met in high school in a class
you had a vivid imagination and always stared in a looking glass

You told me that you could see yourself in the stories you wrote
Just like Sherlock Homes mysterious but without the trench coat
You got lost in your imaginary world and this was your inspiration
you started writing in your journal, immersed in concentration

you could see your stories coming to life, you smiling with elation
you were so intense involved and focused, you left your indentation
I was a wall flower, antisocial, voiceless hiding behind procrastination
It was you who brought me out of my shell and taught me deliberation

I'm here to speak life into your worthy tale
I hope I honestly do you proud without fail
You were always shining, a breath of fresh air
You challenged me so I'm accepting your dare

You always said do whatever's in your heart that is right
So I'm putting on my boxing gloves as I begin this fight
I won't finish until the last chapter, the end the climax
So audience sit back put your feet up and just relax

Her story is she went to Ethiopia to see the country on a whim
She was in a foreign country and the odds of finding love was slim
So she wanted to see some dancing so she went to a night club
She heard this melodious voice coming from this dark chocolate stud

He was so handsome that she couldn't take your eyes off of him
You wanted to dress sexy, you wanted to be proper and prim
You looked into his beautiful brown eyes and kissed on this date
From that moment on your destiny was sealed this was your fate

As you told me the story you glowed with a sparkle in your eyes
You were happy, you had butterflies It was beautiful love at first sight
After thirty long romantic days you had to travel to take your flight
Little did we know that your life journey was ending without goodbyes

My best friend went to Africa and she was intrigued and found a man
Never had she imagined finding true love, happiness in this foreign land
So I stand before you today as I felt the need to write her story
In it's innocence, purity, romance, tragedy, and all It's glory
