Santa's Sack

by Thomas Bowling

Santa visited on Christmas Eve
I noticed something strange as he started to leave
When he left the gifts beneath the tree
His large red sack was quite empty

Muffled cries for help I thought I could hear
As he tossed the sack into the sled
Suddenly I felt such dread
The sack that was empty just moments before
Now had to be dragged across the floor

I ran to my children's bedroom
That's when my dread turned to doom
The children were gone, carried away in the night
As I ran outside, the reindeer took flight

Santa laughed with fiendish delight
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night
