This Week Is Full Of Darkness Deep

by danpald

This week is full of darkness deep
For the world is sound asleep
Slowly move to bring forth light
With twinkling lines in trees alight

Darkness is a part of time
Filled with hopeless streams of life
No one knows how deep the fear
Until new light comes to make us cheer

So this first week of Advent
Reminds us of a world of darkness
No dreams but fear in the air
To change as now a Child draws near

Light your house with strings that twinkle
Bring trees of sturdy boughs to glisten
Buying gifts for beloved family
Do not forget one Gift to Jesus rendered

There are Four Weeks of Advent normally. This year a little shorter as Christmas falls on Monday. Still the time is to think of the world condition before and during the arrival of Jesus the Christ. This Gift of God to the world must be remembered during the season. One way is with what is known as the Jesus Gift. A gift given to someone who has done something for you or the family during the year. Perhaps a gift to someone who shows the Christmas Spirit during this Season on some way. I remember one year my Family had trouble finding someone until the last day of shopping when a young boy made the gesture to hold open the door at a store because my Mother and sisters were holding gifts. They ran to the car and back to the store to find the young man and brought him a gift that he would like at the spot. This is the best gift of the year, one given to bring the Joy of Christmas to a weary soul.
