Entranced by a Wink

by Laine Carson

Across the smokey room
calmly cool he sat
Through the rowdy crowd
our eyes met.

Loud, flirty, puffed up men
vied for attention
All of their efforts
lost on me

One icy blue eye closed
opening slowly.
My heart skipped a beat
with that wink.

His gaze captured my breath
warming blood as he
searched past my clothes, my
skin, my soul.

Desire was tangible
with no words spoken.
Connection made by
one blue eye.
