What old men like to do

Old Men

Old men drinking coffee and
spinning tales at the local small town cafe
They meet every day throughout the week
Coffee is free to the seniors
They laugh loudly and order another cup

The waitress knows them all
She's heard them share their lives
Good times and sad they still show up
Sam likes a doughnut with his coffee
John's wife died last year of cancer
Frank has two kids in college and
George's wife doesn't give a damn

They kill time every morning
Solving the world's problems
They sip their coffee together
Just old friends

Writing Prompt
This is a poetry contest, no prose. The style is FREE VERSE, no structured poetry of any kind. If it has a name ie, sonnet, haiku, quatrains, blank verse, nonet etc. it is NOT free verse.

The topic is aging. Feel free to use your imagination and ingenuity to approach the topic any way you wish. BUT, it must clearly be about AGING.

Your presentation is entirely up to you. You may use all your skills to make your piece exciting to look at and experience as well as to read.

NOTE: If you have to EXPLAIN your piece in author's notes, it ain't much of a piece. :))
