There's a cowboy that waits for me
He's lanky and handsome
in a weathered kind of way

His face is tan from the sun and wind
Eyes that have seen many things
Black hair that's a bit shaggy
Under his old hat

Legs slightly bowed from riding the range
A walk that conveys he's in control
Jeans faded and holey
Boots dusty and skinned

He's not one for idle talk
He prefers the silence of the prairie
But he can quote scripture
That his mother taught
