A short poem about the mainstream

by asaldivar

My brevity is but liquefaction
facile, fluid, and cheap
my written words are but conformity
in fields of bleating sheep
the monochrome men who do indeed
tell me where to sleep
say someday fame, it will carve my name,
as long as I don’t speak.
