A Long Time Ago

As I sit in my rocking chair,

Listening to creaks that time put there,
Old memories float back and I reminisce.
Nothing can rival my teenage bliss -
Going to school, hoping to pass,
Taking a job for a tankful of gas.
I remember my greatest fantasy -
Meeting that boy from Tennessee.
Elvis was king and how I did dream,
A move of those hips made every girl scream.
Going to the hop, dancing rock and roll -
Oh how those memories cheer my soul.
