Drowning in a sea I love

Head above water

by DR DIP

HEAD ABOVE WATER.

Just got to keep my head above water
I'm drowning in an angry sea
I'm swimming here with Neptune's daughter
She's taken hold, won't let me free

I'm gasping air, I'm going down
Grasping for life like never before
You aren't aware I wear this frown
Come and save me, I want you more

Davey Jones is not my friend
Never want to meet him ever
I am holding on until the end
This is my life don't want to sever

Throw me a line, before I drown
I need a lifebuoy of your love
You are my Queen you wear my crown
I still see you up above

The tide is strong, takes me to the shore
I'm a prisoner of this ocean's command
The waves crash over me once more
Before I reach out and touch the sand

I gasp for air but know I am with you
I live my life for another day
It will always be love I give you
And these words I'll always say

You are my lover you are my ocean
You give to me but then take away
But in the sea I have this devotion
My lover the sea I love your way

I wrote this last night thinking about my love of the ocean..she is like a woman...angry, placid, unpredictable but someone I love anyway. When the waves are huge and the ocean is angry I am very cautious of an ocean scorned but like all lovers, we can make up to a life of total bliss again. Such is the ever changing ocean.
