a life-saving poison
a contradiction
causing harm
to extend life

Short Poem contest entry

I have a friend with metastatic cancer. She endures chemo to extend her life with her family, but this same "medicine" is a poison that ruins her body in other ways. Each time is another torture and another possible side effect to her weak body. I hate cancer!
