Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Ekphrasic free verse

Adrift In a Covenless World

An outsider

rejected

if I don't fit in
where I feel I
fit in
then how will I fit
anywhere
 
what I wear won't be
what they wear
my hat
what will they think
of that?
do they even don
one upon?
 
once I could fly
but now
no sky beckons
and I fear
the eyes will ground me
and confound
my every dream
 
my life lived was my dream
but they treated me
like a witch
and cast me out
 
what will be
my stake
when I am
arrived
where I arrive?
