"Damn the rain!” the man was known to bellow,
”No game today,” complained the angry fellow.
No fan of baseball, strange as it may seem,
When games were called, he had to let off steam.

None would guess what a happy life Fred led,
if any saw the steaming Fred instead.
His knowing wife shared in his frustration;
Loss of income was his motivation.

When baseball weather wasn’t going wrong,
the baseball fans would hear his siren song;
They all knew the friendly vendor, Freddy -
