Blue Humpback Whale

by mermaids

I swim the sea, feeling free
mother fell for a curious humpback
she admired his intelligence,
I came forth to a watery world
with mother's strength, father's song

I was watching a nature program about Blue Whales and was surprised when it was discovered that a particular whale was a hybrid of a Blue Whale and a Humpback Whale. Researchers believed this may have happened due to the shortage of Blue Whales.
