100 Word Flash Fiction Contest Winner
John Frost finished writing the letter with tear-filled eyes. Despair flowed freely from the wound that was his ruptured heart. The letter was placed underneath the unwanted engagement ring on the dining room table, next to the unopened bottle of champagne.
He pressed play on the CD player, stepped onto the stool positioned beneath the wooden beam in the kitchen. He glanced at the picture of himself and Laura hanging on the wall. Chris Isaac's words rang out, " what a wicked game you played," as he put the noose around his neck, pulled it tight and stepped from the stool....
