Dealing with an emotion honestly

Discussing Disgust With Disgust

by Ogden

(See notes below)

Repulsus Disgustus, this is the first time I have addressed you personally… No…I mean ”emotionally” because you're no person...only a lowly emotion!
It's needless to say, but I'll say anyway, I confront you with not any devotion.

My first comment  is ‘Ugh!', and that goes for gazillions of us!
You repulse us and disgust us, revolting Repulsus Disgustus!

There may be some off-the-wall wackos attracted to odiferous you,
but no matter your aroma today, I'll still have to say the same old
”Pee-ew!!”

You abide in numerous nasty, foul, fetid, abuses
that cause us to be nauseous, so, we're virtually all inclusive,
and since you exist everywhere, you will find us all elusive.
(We get the hell away from your unbearable smell,
except for those weirdos who groove on your grossest gut-wrenching
spell).

Repulsus Disgustus,
I’ve done my best to
do justice
to
that emotion
that makes us detest you.

You
       Repulsus Disgustus!

My catharsis is ended! (No offense intended.)

Personification of an Emotion poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem where an emotion is turned into a real person could it be Linda Lust or prince Terror can be funny scary sad anything you like have fun.

NOTES
Disgust is an emotion repugnant to most of us, so, as I never notice anyone speaking out against it, I'm taking the liberty of doing it for those of us who are anti-disgust. I hope that includes you.

For anyone needing a refresher on some relatively infrequently used words:
repugnant - extremely distasteful:
odiferous - having or giving off a smell, especially an unpleasant one
catharsis - the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
