Hearts torn apart

Uncertain

by Boogienights

Sitting in the dark,
with a shattered heart.
Acceptance that you're gone
is months away.
Pondering the mystery of why you left,
fear wells up inside.
Am I to blame?
What hateful words could I have said,
to make you wish that I were dead?
I can't recall,
it's buried deep.
Coming out only in my dreams,
when I sleep.
Disorder reigned
in our house of pain.
Exchanging blows by hand and tongue.
But still I miss what once we had.
The love we knew outweighed the bad.
Sitting in the dark,
with a shattered heart,
the house is still and quiet.
But inside of me a storm is raging,
my thoughts are in a riot.
If you should return, if I'm still here,
can we make the madness disappear?
Try to keep our heads and find a way,
to start again another day?
