I'm Seventy!

by Connie C

I'm seventy. How can that be?
I wonder where the time has gone.
The stages of my life, you see,
have whizzed right by as they move on.

My body says I must slow down.
I'm seventy. How can that be?
But when I stop and look around,
I find some others just like me.

Of obligations, we are free.
We walk, take yoga, do it all!
I'm seventy. How can that be?
Stay young at heart. Yes, that's my call.

Forget about my achy knees
or that I often have to pee.
My ailments only serve to tease.
I'm seventy. How can that be?

Recognized

Nope, that's not me in the picture, and yes, I did just recently turn seventy, which was difficult to accept at first. But I guess I'm settling into it now.
