One decision ruined my eligibility, my very existence.
Being Puzzleman was my life’s ambition. I gathered my pieces gradually. Each one had to be a perfect fit. After many years of diligent concentration on my only work, panels came and panels went, and to justify their terms, in their incumbencies they tweaked the rules and regulations.That was their business, and I paid them no mind, confident nothing would interfere with my destiny. My 1,000 pieces were indisputably flawless. In my mind, I already was Puzzleman. But I wasn’t. The lame duck panel had decreed the maximum piece count one hundred.
