The Nurse's Hat

by aryr

Long gone are the days of old,
When a cap or a hat indeed told.
The status of the wearer.
Matron or maiden, whatever.

It was a sign of servitude
(Not meaning to be rude)
Of often called Chosen,
Or Angels, by men.

The caps or hats are now gone away.
But the dedication does not stray,
The compassionate caring carries on.
The choice of career stays strong.

Thru the ages a change in the role,
Long hours do indeed, take a toll.
The smiles that match the care.
Be thankful, your nurse is there.
