by Bill Schott

I struggled with the spelling of cornucopia. I even asked Amalthaea Goatgod, who can spell anything.

"Ya stat wit con," he said.

"C - O - N?"

"Nahahaha. Con. Seh - oh - eh - un."

"Right. Then O?" I asked.

"Ooo."

"U?"

"Ewe? Whaa?"

"Calm down. I meant the letter U."

"Yehahaha. Ooo."

"Then C - O - P - I - A?"

"Shah."

"Great! Thanks for your help. You're better than spell check."

"He anudda gut?"

"No. It's a program."

"Whine ta oozet?"

"'Cause I thought I'd get the spelling straight from the horse's mouth."

"Huh?"

"Cornucopia is associated with the horn of Amalthaea the Goat. A horn of plenty."

"Oh? Kay. Gutta nutta wood?"

"Papyrus."

" Peh-“

"That's okay. I'm going to get Thoth, ancient Egytian god of writing to help me with this one."
