watermelon is a seasonal word (kigo) for summer

Just a note...haiku doesn't have to be strictly about just nature. There are ones that refer to cultural observances ( religious or state or both). These are called gyoji haiku. There are ones that refer to lifestyle. This includes work and play. These are called seikatsu. (this is the haiku I wrote) There is also a combination of gyoji and seikatsu called jinji, which refers to the gamut of human affairs.
