Maytag Mayhem

Betrayal Contest Winner 
My oven is a Sear's Maytag
Its been around for years
Last night I cursed its famous name
It brought me close to tears.

My cornbread recipe's the best
With sauteed onions, cheese and corn
I've made it many times before,
The page is stained and worn.

Last night I had some friends to eat
I cooked spareribs and blackeyed peas
With coleslaw and my good cornbread
The meal was sure to please.

But something happened with my stove
The cornbread sunk!  And got too brown;
My Maytag must have gone on strike
Or had a big meltdown.

The cornbread recipe really is divine - it had always turned out moist and tasty with a little butter added when it's hot, however.....
