Lost Without You

by Connie C

You've disappeared. What shall I do?
I cannot function without you.
So carelessly, I've let you go
and now I'm left to suffer so.

I'm too dependent--that, I see.
If only you'd return to me.
I trusted you with all I know.
It worries me that you don't show.

One minute you were here, then gone.
I wonder how I'll carry on.
How clearly now it's plain to see
I lack responsibility.

I fear that I will now lose touch
with friends who've always meant so much.
Without you, they won't hear from me.
You were my link, most certainly.

It's time for me to face the fact
that you've helped keep my life intact.
Since you refuse to show your face,
it's you that I must now replace.

I'm off to find an Apple Store
to buy a new smart phone once more

A few weeks ago, I thought I had lost my iPhone and, sad to say, I immediately panicked. All my contact phone numbers were in my phone and not in my head or written anywhere else. Luckily, the phone showed up in my daughter's car an hour later. It made me realize how much I rely on a smart phone.
