Improbably Resplendent

by Leineco

     You were so large...
     so majestic–

        Jupiter's Europa transported
        into Earth orbit

     with your glorious dreams
     and grandiose schemes;
          your stately august,
          and your destiny's child
                 savoir-faire flair

                     - - - < <> > - - -

     You were so mesmerizing...
     hypnotic –

     With your Ponzo illusion,
              confusing perspective
        and visual reference;
     rose-colored splendor

                    perigee's promise
                 perched on horizon

                     - - - < <> > - - -

     You were fireworks
     and cacophony –

        Shostakovich's 5th
      with Pollack's White Light
                    and Coltrane's

     A chorus of aria anthems,
     drum beating dirges, and jubilant verses,
     composing a dissonant

     And, oh,
     how I languish and flounder
     in the doldrums and dazed wake
     you've left us.
