An acrostic poem about the author

Charles Dickens Acrostic

by Dolly'sPoems

Charles was a man with a humorous streak,
Humane, satirical and tongue in cheek.
Austere Victorian English prose,
Reporting in papers which readers chose.
Lamenting on poverty, education and crime,
Eclipsing the mood of Victorian time.
Social reform was a passion for him,

Debtors prison, he knew it was grim.
Indelible ink, he noted the laws,
Charting the suffering, recording the cause.
Knowing the cruelty of the system,
Engaging the strong, the weak, the victim.
Novels depicting the Victorian way,
Stories we still enjoy reading today.
