A Bookend Monorhyme ~ Commentary

A chapter in the book More Opinions & Politics 2013~2017

'More Opinions, Politics & Comments' ~#50-401-B
Pendulum swings.
New era rings.

Elections usher in the new, turn the page,
but petulant children stamp their feet in rage.
Acrimony will not unify, assuage.
Only history will be the judge, the gauge.

Time pulls the strings.
It changes things.

'More Opinions, Politics & Comments'

petulant = ill-tempered
acrimony = bitterness, spite
assuage = lessen, tone down

This form is called a Bookend Monorhyme which I created. It consists of two stand alone monorhymes that relate to each other but not dependent on one another. One 4-line monorhyme, containing 4 syllables per line and one 4-line monorhyme containing 11 syllables per line. Lines 1, 2, and 7, 8 are a-a-a-a. Lines 3, 4, 5, 6 are b-b-b-b.
Thank you for reading my poetry.
