Our Time On Earth Is Short

Thank The Lord

by country ranch writer

The two things I am thankful for. The first is having the privilege to have been able to know and love a very special lady over the years she had left. Mary Stuckey was a very loving mother and devoted wife to Frank Stuckey her husband. She was much older than him at the time of his demise and it was sad everyone in his family turned their backs on her. It was not her fault he died of alcoholism and heart failure.
Mary had just lost her son to a heart attack earlier this year, he never told his mom he had heart problems because he didn't want to worry her. He took care of his mom and when he passed her daughter arranged to have a neighbor come stay with her while she had to go back to Texas to work. When she got the call to come home it was so sudden they didn't know Mary's cancer had progressed to the end stages. One day she was here and the next she was gone. Rest in Peace.
God had better plans for her to go to heaven and look after the folks who needed her there. No Pain ever again and she will never walk alone for God will be with her with every step she takes. Her stage four cancer was too much for her weakened condition to fight it off any longer. She will be missed as she goes on her way up to the heavens above. Take it from someone who knows. Visit your loved ones while they are alive as there are no guarantees for your tomorrows.

The second being able to have the strength to look after my husband and keep his spirits up after eight surgeries on his leg amputation. We have lost so much over the years and our spirits really had fallen on shaky, ground. We have put our faith in God and he has helped us through all of this.

We knew we were going to fight for survival mode all the way through and were never going to give up. They say God works in mysterious ways and I am a firm believer in this.
We still have a long row to hoe but we are getting there one day at a time. God have taught me many things this past year and a half. Always to be humble and kind to those folks you love the most and willing to go the extra mile for you.
This is when you really find out who your friends are as the song goes who will drop everything and come help.
My writing friends have taught me that I am not alone and I have friends all over the world praying for my husband to get well. This means a lot to me. To know I too would be there in spirit and prayers for you in return. So I don't mind telling you it has been rough.
I have more grey than red in my hair these days, but I guess I can't complain. It is a part of getting old they say.
I turned my computer on earlier tonight and there were a bunch of well-wishers wishing my husband the best. He tells me, I just can't believe it! I sit with him in his room reading him the stories and poems from my Ipad. He has tears in his eyes, but they were happy tears. I ruffled his hair teasing him,"Oye of little faith." He tries to smile. I kiss him and give him a big hug. He is in a much better mood.
